AtthecoreofRedoubtisthestorythatunfoldsinthefilm.ItfollowsDiana(AnetteWachter,along-rangechampionshooter),theRomangoddessofhuntingandnature,andhercompanions(EleanorBauer,whoisalsothefilm’schoreographer,andLauraStokes)onawolfhuntthroughthesnowymountainsofIdaho.Overthecourseofsevendaysandnights,asthetriotracktheirpreyanddancethroughthewilderness,theyarefollowedbyastatelandmanager(MatthewBarney),whodocumentstheirmovementsinengravingsoncopperplates.Eachevening,hereturnstoasmalltrailerbyariver,wherehispartner(K.J.Holmes)washestheplatesinelectricbaths.
